Little Miss Sunshine

One of my all time favorite movies… the only film that made me cry and laugh all at the same time, and when I say “the same time”, it’s really crying-laughing baliw-baliwan moment…  I’m still boggled why Abigail Breslin dance routine has that effect on me…hehehe!

But my favorite line from the movie comes from Paul Dano’s Dwayne..

“You know what? Fuck beauty contests. Life is one fucking beauty contest after another. School, then college, then work… Fuck that. And fuck the Air Force Academy. If I want to fly, I’ll find a way to fly. You do what you love, and fuck the rest. “

So true..right?

Pride March Manila 2008

It was the annual Pride March last saturday… It was very colorful compared to last year’s event, there were fabulous floats, people were in their stunning if not fierce attire, there were participant coming from the world wide web such as the OneBacardi clan from G4m and the Rainbow Bloggers and most of all there were counter rallyist- religious/fundamnetalist people trying to rain on our parade as they shout.. “Gays and Lesbians go to hell!!’

In my years of marching, it’s the first time that I’ve encountered these people, I must say their presence added spice to the event. They got all the Pride People agitated… We screamed back at them, at the top of our lungs… ” Would Jesus Discriminate?!”  It was really a time to show our PRIDE.

But, what I love most about Pride Day is….

The diverse crowd! girl, boy, bakla, tomboy. sama sama,

the Pride virgins…our baby bayots,

The queens and princesses, so pretty!

our beloved brothers, go tibo!

The fabulous floats,

the hot men, yezzzzz!

The fabulous costumes,

Our fight against discrimination,

And our unity to fight for our causes.

but above all these, Pride March is all about…

The LOVE that finally dared speaks it’s name…

and the friendship that lasts…

through AGES!
